Track data, ensure integrity and delete when it is obsolete.

The more data you have, the more data you have to lose.

BitArmor DataControl includes data management features that ensure you won’t keep obsolete, unnecessary data around for longer than you have to.

It also lets you track data throughout your organization to document who uses files and when. DataControl collects usage activity, such as file access, copy/opens/closes in addition to tracking unauthorized attempts in a central audit log so you can prove access control for regulatory audits.Another major feature is the ability to check for integrity of the data - this prevents  manipulation of data by unauthorized processes. As an example, BitArmor can use this capability to protect virtual machine files and ensure they are not tampered before opening them.

Three steps: keep what you want, destroy what you don’t.

Policies in DataControl’s Smart Tags let you control what data you keep and control what data you delete with exact precision.

Each Smart Tag may include an expiration date. Once a file reaches its expiration date in its Smart Tag, access is restricted to authorized administrators only.

After a file has expired, authorized administrators can either reinstate its previous access controls or destroy selected data via policy from a central console based on its Smart Tag policies. Files can be destroyed even if a machine that contains the selected data isn’t physically accessible.

Once files have been permanently destroyed, DataControl gives administrators the ability to delete those files and restore disk space they formerly occupied.

Track data everywhere.

DataControl’s Smart Tag technology makes it possible to track data usage throughout your organization. You can document data usage and destruction for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, PCI, and HIPAA.

Each Smart Tag records data access and usage, then transmit activity to the central BitArmor Control Server where it is logged. Control Server logs are easily searchable so you can document access controls and data integrity for regulatory audits.
