Central Audit Log: Track and Audit Activity for Distributed Data

Collect data activity from anywhere in your organization

BitArmor™ provides a central audit log that allows you to track and capture many different types of data activity for security and compliance audits. Administrators set audit policies at the Control Server. BitArmor Control Agents then transmit data activity from users’ computers back to the Control Server where it is recorded. In addition to user activities (reads, writes, authorized access attempts, and unauthorized access attempts), the audit log also records administrator activities, errors, and changes in security settings.

With time-stamped activity entries, you can see who has accessed what data anywhere in your company; when data was created, deleted, or destroyed; and get complete details of all administrative activities.

Prove controls are in place for legislative compliance

Recent legislation requires audited proof of controls, data privacy, data integrity, and data retention policies. DataControl™’s audit log helps your organization prove compliance by providing a means for monitoring data access, validating data integrity checks, and implementing forensic diagnosis. Because the audit log is easily searchable by many different criteria — data classification, user activity, administrator activity, and unauthorized access attempts, among others — your internal legal and security departments can quickly assemble audit trails when required for incident response and eDiscovery.
