With BitArmor™, you get the unique ability to actually enforce the retention policies your company develops. DataControl™ manages the length of time for which data is available with its automatic, centrally managed retention policies. Access to data is restricted once it reaches the end of its pre-defined lifecycle; either by a timed policy (e.g., “expires three years from today”) or fixed-date policy (e.g., “expires October 3, 2020”). You can ensure that obsolete data won’t be used for longer than it should.

Automatic retention policy management

Retention policies travel with data in Smart Tags™, are activated by Control Agent software, and are automatically managed by the central Control Server. Your administrators can set retention policies based on data classification so they can be easily managed from the Control Server without manual intervention.
