Simple, automatic encryption key management
You can completely eliminate the manual management and distribution of encryption keys with BitArmor DataControl. It automatically manages and distributes encryption keys based on policies you set for specific users, user groups, or computers.
BitArmor’s automatic key management also enables two very unique functions: enforceable data retention policies and permanent data destruction. Once data reaches the end of a pre-defined retention policy, the encryption settings are automatically changed. Encryption keys will no longer be issued for this expired data, so it can no longer be accessed.
Administrators can still access data after its retention policy has expired. They can also choose to permanently destroy the data. BitArmor enables this permanent destruction by actually destroying the encryption key to a particular piece of data. Once a key is destroyed, its associated data is permanently encrypted and cannot be accessed or reconstituted.
Flexible options for simple enterprise encryption
DataControl gives you flexible options for enterprise encryption. You can choose exactly what data to encrypt, and what data to not. Encrypt data only on laptops and select servers, or encrypt sensitive data throughout your enterprise. BitArmor can also encrypt removable media like USB drives and FireWire devices. Removable media encryption can be configured as read-only, it can encrypt complete devices, or it can be user-defined.
